After thirty years of being involved with German Shepherds, I have learned so much from so many people. In the early years, I was just interested in American conformation shows. In my twenty years of breeding American dogs, I have had three outstanding examples of the breed. Personally, I think it was a miracle because it was mostly by chance.
I remember some of what I thought, was going to be the best breeding ever, did not turn out as well as I expected. It was not until I had in depth conversations with a wonderful gentleman and a very knowledgeable breeder named Ernest Loeb, did I become convinced that German lines were the way to go even for conformation.
Not only was Ernest an outstanding judge in both the United States and Germany, he had an uncanny ability to match up the proper sire for the dam. He also taught me the importance of working ability for a good all around dog. Whether it be a family pet or an all out show dog being campaigned all over the world. Today, I strive to achieve a balance of the best in conformation without forgetting the importance of working scores. Our dogs are only from VA and V German lines and puppies are sometimes available.
